Red flags:

• Bottom of wood handle has been puttied / modified

• Copper wire on handle appears to be more recent (wide) and re-wrapped

• Counterweight is off-center 

• Object appears to be a marriage of an old, authentic blade and an old, hand-made counterweight. Not clear if the wood handle is original.
